论丁尼生《食莲人》的唯美主义风格及其美学思想

摘要:
《食莲人》与《尤利西斯》虽皆取材于《荷马史诗》,但在主题思想上存在着较大差异,在学界也存有一定争议。从美学的角度来看,《食莲人》和丁尼生同期创作的其他的“论诗诗”在意象上可以找到共同的原型,美学主张上也较为一致,主要有:丁尼生早期创作继承了济慈的唯美风格,注重诗歌本身的形式之美,为艺术而艺术;美不存在于客观世界,丁尼生注重在充满幻想的艺术空间中用“内在感官”去体验真正的理念之美和神性之美;诗歌是传播上帝智慧和真理的媒介,艺术领域则是人类摆脱尘世痛苦的伊甸园。因此,《食莲人》可看作反映诗人早期唯美主张及其主观美学的重要作品。

On Aesthetic Style of Tennyson’s Lotus Eater and His Aesthetic Ideology

Abstract:
Lotus Eater and Ulysses draw on the same ancient work—Odyssey, but there are great differences in their themes, and academic circles sometimes argue about that. From aesthetic point of view, some common prototype images can be found in Lotus Eater and Tennyson’s other poems on poetics in the same period, and they have similar aesthetic ideas. The ideas mainly include: Tennyson inherited Keats’ aesthetic style in his early creation, paying attention to the beauty of poetry itself, and pursuing art for art’s sake; beauty does not exist in the objective world, and Tennyson tended to experience the real beauty of ideas and divinity with “inner sense” in the art space full of fantasy; poetry is the medium of god’s wisdom and truth, and art is the Garden of Eden, in which human beings could escape from earthly pain. Thus, Lotus Eater can be regarded as an important work reflecting Tennyson’s early aesthetic ideas and subjective aesthetics.
